The 10 best movies to really avoid

by vivek of themavericks » Fri Nov 08, 2002 12:35 pm

This is my 5th board in the top 10 series. I don`t start boards to get a great response, I start them to make you all feel safe in life! Well, my usual topics of \"top 10s\" made most of you think I am a stock broker! So I felt like avoiding them for a while - but if you still feel like checking them out, you may visit indiainfoline.com. I got one of my writeups published.

I am a movie buff - I was so much into it that I stumbled upon some bad ones. I hence thought it would be good if I caution you all about the 10 worst movies ever. Please don`t watch them even if they are free to view.

Movie 1 - Mera Lo Mere Baap Ka Lo... Aashirvaad! - This was a real iritant, and the aashirvaad word was in fine print. Really a bad one, and those who thought this as a soft porn were too disappointed.
Movie 2 - Barbed Wire - It was supposed to be a \"violent action movie\", but I guess with (post-silicone) Pamila Anderson as the lead actress, the director shot the movie in a way that nothing ( else) was visible on the screen. Don`t even try this movie, that too on your PC screen!!
Movie 3 - Bandit Queen - I am sure all you purists won`t agree, but I hated this movie . Shekar Kapur in an interview had mentioned that if all the cuts recommended by the censor board were incorporated, then the movie would have got reduced to 10 mins . That would have been better - a 10 min documentary on Phoolan Devi.
Movie 4 - MI3 – No, this is not Mission Impossible 3 , its just MI3. So it\’s a fake one - need I say more?
Movie 5 - Ek Chotisi Love Story - A real lousy remake of \" Short film about love\", but for Manisha it\’s a B-grade soft-porn . All the fuss was a damp squib. With Manisha looking like an LPG cylinder throughout the movie, there is no reason for even a grown-up to peek, let alone a small guy. And say what, please hit me, I saw it in a Cinema Hall too!
Movie 6 - Tarzan (Hindi) - This Kimi Katkar masterpiece would have been a sureshot winner in the Rasberries. Jane (name changed in Hindi) wears a top that looks like a designers’ outfit bitten by a dog.
Movie 7 - Rakshakan (Rakshakudu in Telugu) - When a man gets angry, his eyes get red. The veins don`t bulge and run all the way till the medulla oblongata. The graphics where the heroine captures the hero in her eyes is a must see! If someone supports me, I wanna sue the director for mental agony caused under IPC 317 (a).
Movie 8 - American Beauty - I guess the movie crew convinced the Oscar jury that \"beauty\" was used as a metaphor for the various stages of thought process that a man undergoes in the American society. If this is assumed true, we should have travel advisory restrictions on USA by gullible Indians, and if it\’s not true, then why on the mother of earth did this movie get the Academy Awards and not Barbed Wire!!?
Movie 9 - Lal Baadshah - 55 year OLD angry YOUNG man sings \"I want to dance baby, sing baby\" to Manisha. This classic ran for two and half days and all buffs like me paid more for it.
Movie 10 - Any dance classic starring Telugu superstar Krishna!
Coming up - the 10 worst advertisements...

(1)I fully agree with you regarding \"Ek Choti si Love Story\". Usually I watch any dumbo movie if I get the video free. This was the only movie where I couldn\'t sit infront of the TV more than 1/2hr. Good that I didn\'t pay to watch even that 1/2hr.
(2)Regarding \"American Beauty\", for the first time I realized Oscar awards can be bought like any other Indian awards!

Well...what abt classics like Mohabbatein, Kabhi Khushi...,a dn all those idiotic mushy nonsense movies that these big banners made. Waste of money, and even bigger waste of time. Not to forget...could not stand DEVDAS. That man shoudl have been banned from the face of this earth for making such a classic into a HORROR SHOW!! Somebody tell Mr.Chewing Gum (the director), Mr.Stammerer and Miss World..there is more to acting and direction that just gloss and ham.

david dhawan movie\'s raaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwks. tr0000 bollywood to the core.....no other movie can be as bollywood as david dhavan\'s...you get what you expect ..no disappointment...no cribs. David Dhawan does what he is best at...no airs about him..no wannabism..he might have experimented ...he may have failed...but he has come back to his roots and that is simply mind-blowing. It take more than guts to come out and deliver the same old stuff again and again....and yeah govinda rulz too...
