All those who are interested in poetry... who can pay an ode to poetry, who can write epitaphs, elegies, who can understand the stream of consciousness, listen blues, play strings, contemplate with and without grass...

Doesn\'t seem like many Hyderabadi ppl are poetic... Kinda sad. Oh well, here is a poem - it\'s not so lively and romantic but it does convey a certain aspect of most of the people\'s lives.

************* Death ************

Lying on my bed
staring at the walls
memories sweet and sad
memories flashing by as the time calls.

Faces known unknown all around
all frowning not one with a smile
sadness like covers all the ends
darkness everywhere for miles n mile.

Spent most of my life running
striving hard to make money
trying to get rich the easy way
nvr stopped, now repenting.

Wish i had done some good
had stopped when I was asked to
wish had made one person happy
done something for someone selflessly.

Alas! its is too late now
nothing there is now that I can do
I lie in my bed, staring at the walls
regretting and awaiting my death.

(Sikandar M Khan)

Hi Satish et al! I\'m writing this with a hang of the early morning blues since the begining of the day. \'Poetry, Music and more...\' Hmmm, a very nice start - or is it another contemplating ejaculation for all the junctures which could only be in our dreams but never to happen in reality? Well, Satish, are you one among the few people who were the victims of getting carried away by the odes of extremism? Are you one among the people who always strive to do something but realise the thrive for realism in the end? Huh! Do I sound like a rebellion again :). Listening to blues, Contemplating thoughts, Lateral sense, Primal Screams, Flourishing frustration... is this the way of life or is it the dark side of everyone\'s life which nobody can dare to look upon?

Not to mention, are we trying to show to the world that we know better things and having a pleasure out of this refined crucification? I recall the sayings of one of my friends who believed in practicality earlier than all this fundoos have been developed around our society:
\'Poetry, music and your lousy thinking are a kind of shield you have moulded around yourself just make sure that nobody ascertains your uncertainity and inconsistency\'.

Fire me guys! If I was under a false impression of seeing things, err, \'the other way around\'. Thanks for being so patient to read all this crap till this time :) Adios

It seems Arun stopped at Heisenberg\'s uncertainity... destruction necessitates construction... living on the edge makes it possible... it is the twining and untwining the threads of art to see whole new patterns ...remember zarathustra??

To-morrow\'s silence, Truimph, or Despair:
Drink! for know you not whence you came, nor why:
Drink! for you know not why you go, nor where.

Death\'s beauty is in the fact that it is so impure. Death doesnt ask of us to interpret it in the way it wants to. If everything was clear to the person experiencing death, there is no need for any thought. It\'s the ambiguity of the phenomenon which pleads to whoever is listening/feeling/viewing it to spark some thought, debate or discuss that holds it together. Death is a religion, death is a priest, death is a truth, embracing me...

hi popesmokesdope! After reading your message, I could resist myself from posting a poem here which was written by one of my friend. Here it goes..

Is death something to be scared of?
While it’s just another time travel,
another uncertainty after this mortal world
You may condemn the tragedy that arranges it
Or the pain that begins it
Or the goodbye tears that accompany it
Or the sudden arrival that brings it

So sudden
That you can not even choose
What flowers to decorate your grave
Whether the white roses or the white lilies
Is it allowed to just pick any kinds and colors?
Just like death itself
That picks anyone without consideration

So sudden
That you can not even write any invitations
For those to attend your funeral
Is it proper to just show up,
Even though not invited?
Just like death itself
That comes always without invitation

Hey... nice to see so many great literary heads colliding... here\'s a poem ...we need music connoisseurs also to contribute...

Intimacies!!

Attributes attracted;
Pheromones fascinated impulses
Organs revelled!!

Seduced solitude
Entangled freedom in an asylum
Don Juan repented!!

Auctioned senses to mountains
Sisyphus caressed up
Kisses un-lipped!!

Fell upon the wall
From the torture of togetherness
To the longing of loneliness!!

This is a brilliant board. But my point is that there really is no \"reality\" to discover. What is art but metaphysical imagery and emotional response. There is no well-defined parameter to work with ... there is
simply no common reality for everyone. Of course, I could take it a step higher and talk about the nature of reality itself, but it becomes irrelevant here. I don\'t believe in the absoluteness of anything. I am right now trying to discover post-mordernism in art. Led zeppelin was
always fun to play around and so was Zappa ;-).

\"And in Life\'s noisiest hour,
There whispers still the ceaseless Love of Thee,
The heart\'s Self-solace and soliloquy.

You mould my Hopes, you fashion me within;
And to the leading Love-throb in the Heart
Thro\' all my Being, thro\' my pulse\'s beat;
You lie in all my many Thoughts, like Light,
Like the fair light of Dawn, or summer Eve
On rippling Stream, or cloud-reflecting Lake.

And looking to the Heaven, that bends above you,
How oft! I bless the Lot that made me love you..\"

beautiful death may be,
but so is life.
death is yet to come,
let me worry abt it another day,
living life as it comes,
why dont i just party today.. :)

well...... at least thats what life is to me... live while it lasts.. no one gets out alive anyway.. :)

Like religion, I created mind idols
Of you, and slept at your stone feet
I worshipped your beady eyes
In your temple, found retreat.

And like religion, I blindly followed
Your book, and propagated to all
Your splendour, majesty and beauty
Dogmas I created, maliciously to befall.

Like religion, I preached your sermons
To my own congregation of fools
Celebrated, in atonement, your festivals
Mindfully followed your rules.

And like religion, I cursed all detractors
Unbelievers, that seemingly saw through you
Shed their blood with swords of divine hate
For you were the one, and only, true.

Till one fine, gloomy rain day
You finally frowned, and went away
Offering burnt alibis of the angelic order
Leaving me the blame, labelling me \"marauder\".

As the day of judgement drew near
Not a Heaven was in sight
A fiery pit, had I died
For clearly,
Like religion,
You lied.

Mysterious love, uncertain treasure,
Hast thou more of pain or pleasure,
Endless torments dwell about thee,
Yet who would live, and live without thee...

Everyday I confess that I love you, I rejoice that I love you
I thank the maker of heaven and earth that gave you to me, the exultation floods me!!

Only our love hath no decay
This, no tomorrow hath, nor yesterday,
Running it never runs from us away,
But truly keeps first, last, everlasting day...

It was a new feeling... something more than we had dared to own before
Which when we didn\'t hide, we saw in each other\'s eyes...
And wished in every half-breathed sigh...
To speak... But did not...!!!
Sometimes your nearness takes my breath away
And all the things I want to say can find no voice
Then in silence... I can only hope my eyes will speak my heart...

Sweetheart, think about it...
There must be higher love...
Down in the heart or hidden in the stars above...
Without it, life is a wasted time...
Look inside your heart, I\'ll look inside mine!!

Come to me in my dreamz and then by day I shall be well again
For so the night will more than pay
The hopeless longing of the day!!
The way you let your hand rest in mine, my bewitching sweetheart,
Fills me with happiness.
It\'s the perfection of confiding love.

Everything you do... the little unconscious things
Charms me and increases my sense of nearness to you
Identification with you till my heart is full to overflowing...

There is a place in me where your fingerprints still rest...
Your kisses still linger, and your whispers softly echo...
It\'s a place where a part of you will forever be a part of mine...

To be your friend was all I ever wanted, to be your lover was all I ever dreamed!!
- The guilt of the kiss is not in the lips, but in its bliss...

When dreams drift towards deserts
And the sky overcast is desolate
When the thoughts are tumultuous
And the notes are blindly blended

...Look into my eyes...

When tears sway on lids
And melt as pearly snow
Through the red cheeks
Blazed by the hot heart

...Look into my eyes...

...Deep into my eyes...

...In my eyes...

The splash of colors in the sky
And dreams sprouting into twigs
The thoughts weaving into lyrics
And the notes gushing into synchronized streams

...In my eyes...

The music of melting snow
The rattle of rivulets
The gush of rivers
The depth of a sea
And the infinity of an ocean

...Deep in my eyes...

Hey!! Pope spoke the truth. Maybe his dope helped him, but truly nothing is real - neither religion nor ideas - except love and death. Death and love are synonymous, it seems, after reading our pope and 4mylove. It needs ...to write a poem like pope.

I promised you a poem, so I went through my book
I couldn\'t find anything, so I took another look
This time I looked within my heart
That is where I found the words to start...

Sometimes words are unspoken
Which need to be told
And deep down I was hoping my emotions would hold
But the stronger they got...
The harder I fell...
I guess I love you a lot

If you couldn\'t already tell...
It\'s like every little thing you do
Brings a smile to my face
I can\'t help but stare at you
And welcome your embrace...

I think of you every day,
Even when you are around
I never felt this way,
You picked me up when I was down

The chills you bring are unspeakable...
The way you make me melt inside
Do u know you\'re so incredible?
You gave me reason not to hide...

If I could talk forever I\'d say how you make me feel
I promise I\'ll keep us together, for as long as you can deal
My heart beats for only you with every passing hour
I promise I\'ll always be true...

Sweet, you have this power, I love your touch
Your warm and subtle stare, your words and such
And you always being there, I know I can count on you
Through good times and bad, and so I know a thing or two...

And baby, I am glad
If we had never met
I don\'t exactly know where I\'d be,
I live with no regret
Having you here by me I give my hand to you
With all my heart I can\'t wait to live my life with you
I can\'t wait to start...

Laying underneath the stars, on a warm silent night.
Your arms are wrapped around me,
And everything feels right.

You kiss me sweet and softly,
I feel your warm gentle touch,
You help me feel protected,
Under the sweet night sky rush...

My world before me is perfect...
There\'s nowhere else I want to be
Nothing could be more right...
There\'s nowhere else I want to be

Let\'s take a walk, my only love,
Hand in hand, you and me
Let\'s lie underneath the stars,
Hand in hand, you and me

Just when everything is perfect,
And you seem so delicately sweet,
A rush of wind comes past me, as I\'m swept beneath my feet...

Come as thou cam\'st a thousand times
A messenger from radiant climes,
And smile on thy new world, and be
As kind to others as to me...
Or, as thou never cam\'st in sooth,
Come now, and let me dream it truth
And hold my face, and kiss my brow
And say... My love!! Why sufferest thou??

I promised you a poem not knowing where to begin
Now I write you this poem not knowing where to end.
There aren\'t enough stars in the sky, to show
How many times, I\'ve wished for you...
There aren\'t enough places in the world,
To show how far I\'d really go for you...
So, my love,
Let me tell you in no words,
How much you mean to me.

Nothing in this world,
Can add up to how much I love you.
So let it now be known, that this is the moment,
I can finally be yours,
As you will be mine...
- The guilt of the kiss is not in the lips, but in its bliss...

Altered-Ego??

At last, came a wild tigress from the woods
And stayed in the kingdom of my soul, passively
The stripes on her, carried with her the strife
And my swelling veins, the passion in me

She always looked as if to devour me silently
And I protested her with all my pompousness
Though stirred, agitated, fierce and sanguine
The tigress dared not absorb me
For the fear of the dangling swords
Between the stripes of her strife and the path of my love

Yet we both exchanged glances, voices and words
And in this dance of debate, we maneuvered the swords
Confronting, kissed I the strife of the tigress
Melted, tamed and altered her to my mistress

With the tigress cheering my ego, felt I like a tiger
And ventured into the thronged streets of chaos
Leading revolts and upheavals against the orgy of strife
To restore love, rhythm and order with the wild kiss of a tiger!!
