as uneo kept the phone down his blood surged, face red with emotions. a call from dillais meant that this was the time he was awaiting, but he was ready 18 years of training in the japanese red army had taught him that nothing in the world was more important to him than going in the yank's fort and face the fire. the picture of the langley hd.quarters of cia slided in front of his eyes 2000 sqr. miles of fenced property monitored by a sattelite right above it. on top of that eight thousand agents working round the clock on computers and scramblers watching the globe that could check even the blood group of any intuder inside their fort.!!!

8.30 am in paris meant 2.00 pm in new delhi barely a week before the republic day parade, prime minister L.K. Jethwani was about to finish his vegitarian lunch with daughter rupa and wife leela devi.

his schedule was to have lunch and head straight to the defence bhavan on the rashtapati road to head the joint intelligence committee meeting at 2.30, the PM was a stickler for his puctuality a quality rarely seen in this part of the world.

The Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC) of the government of India analyzes intelligence data from the Intelligence Bureau and the RAW, Directorate of Military Intelligence, Directorate of Naval Intelligence, Directorate of Air Intelligence. JIC has its own secretariat that is under the Cabinet Secretariat.

The National Security Council (NSC), established on 24 August 1990, includes the Prime Minister as Chairman, and the Home Minister, External Affairs Minister, Defence Minister and Finance Minister as members.

ending lunch with his favourite masala chai (tea and spices cooked in milk)was a routine for the PM as leela devi served a small amount in a shell white china cup, my half cup of tea as he used to ask her.!!

forty five years of married life with leela devi was a journey he cherished and had fond memories of, his jail time spent in the early part of his political struggle leela devi was there on his side making sure that he was looked after to the smallest little detail setting an example for the masses. daughter rupa was proud of her parents and the love and respect they shared was something not seen much in the modern developed india.

India had come a long way to get a leader such as Jethwani where few of his predecessors used to frequently nap right in front of live cameras in public gatherings and political shows.

jethwani was loved by the masses for his straight forward approach to the problems the country was going through, his strength and leadership was legendry frequently compared by the indian media to the late jawahar lal nehru's as india was moving ahead into being an advanced nation in his leadership, transparency, punctuality and taking bold steps in the fields of science and indutry and education creating and offering jobs to the masses was his trade mark.

the PM left home after lunch at 2.15 to the defence bhavan a five minute drive from his home at safdar jung blvd.

"Minister and madhurima, the cosy couple" screamed the headlines of Delhi Afternoon Times'........

Jethwani picked his cell...he was perturbed,

"hello....When one takes the responsibility of people, one must be remember their life isn't their's any more...nothing is personal.... how many times I need to tell u.... u r a shame, you are a minister now.... and now this!!!!! .... I want to see you after the Security Council meeting.”Jethwani switched his cell off. Disgusting!!!

One at a time.... he told himself.

The PM ‘s convoy raced towards the Defense bhawan.

Delhi in winter looks halcyon yet dismal. This is right time to visit Mammallapuram.Leela will love that. Best part of Jethwani was that he always kept positive thoughts in his mind before he went for Security Council meetings.

please note this was the post missed out few days ago, so this has to go before the PM picked his Cell and spoke to the minister.....

============================

As the PM’s car moved towards the Defense Bhavan, Jethwani’s thoughts flashed back: the journey from Karachi to New Delhi was something of a mixture of pleasant and bitter experiences, hard work, struggle and sacrifice, Jethwani thought about the recent political developments and his life as an immigrant from Karachi (now Pakistan) to New Delhi.

The emergence of India as a self-governing entity had been partly envisioned in the Government of India Act of 1935, and following India's independence in 1947, the Constituent Assembly deliberated over the precise constitutional future of India. On 26 January 1950, India became a Republic, and the Constitution of India was drafted. The Indian National Congress, which had led the country to freedom along with the efforts and sacrifice of many other political and non political groups including the religious groups of the minorities as well as the majority population, remained the largest and most influential party under the stewardship of Jawaharlal Nehru, who served as India's Prime Minister from 1947 to 1964. His 'regime' was marked by the advent of five-year plans, designed to bring big science and industry to India; in Nehru's own language, steel mills and dams were to be the temples of modern India. Relations with Pakistan remained chilling, and the purported friendship of India and China proved to be something of a hoax, when China invaded India's borders in 1962.

Lal Bahadur Shastri, who led the country to something of a victory over Pakistan in 1965, succeeded Nehru; he could not even relish the thought of triumph, dying of a heart attack the day after the treaty was signed. He was succeeded by Indira Gandhi, Nehru's daughter. By the late 1960s, Indira Gandhi had engineered a split in the Congress, as the only means to ensure her political survival, and the Congress had been reduced to a shadow of its former self. In 1971, India crushed Pakistan in a short war that also saw the birth of Bangladesh, and Indira was now at the helm of her powers. But the shine wore off, and as domestic problems mounted and popular movements directed at her began to show their effect, she resorted to more repressive measures. An internal emergency, which placed almost the entire opposition behind bars, was proclaimed in May 1975, and only removed in 1977; and the same opposition, which hastily convened to chart its strategy, achieved in delivering the Congress party its first loss in national elections. This government, serving various political interests, lasted a mere three years, and Indira Gandhi rode a large wave of victory in 1980. But she did not live to complete her term: shot by her own Sikh bodyguards, who sought to avenge the destruction unleashed upon the Golden Temple, the venerable shrine of the Sikh faith, by Indian government troops given the task of flushing out the terrorists holed in the shrine, she was succeeded by her son, Rajiv Gandhi.

L.K. Jethwani was born on November 08, 1930 in Karachi (now Pakistan). His earlier schooling was at St.Patrick's in Karachi. He later on graduated in Law from Bombay University. Though not a practicing lawyer, he argued and debated on behalf of his political party in 1974 before the Supreme Court in the Presidential reference whether election to the post of President could be held when the Gujarat State Assembly was dissolved. Known for his sophistication and culture, Jethwani is given to a modest life style.

At the time of partition of India into Pakistan and India in 1947, he was the political organiser in Karachi City. After the partition, for several years Jethwani organised his party’s political work in Rajasthan a north western Indian state till 1957 before he moved to Delhi to become the Delhi Jana Sangh (as his party was called) Party Secretary and during this period he was also the Secretary to the Jana Sangh Parliamentary Group.

From the year1970 to 1989 Jethwani was a Member of the Rajya Sabha the upper house in the parliament. In 1989 and again in 1991 he was elected to Lok Sabha that is the lower house. In the same year he was also appointed the Leader of Opposition. He was elected President of Jana Sangh in 1973 and continued untill 1977, before he was appointed Information & Broacasting Minister in the Janata government. During his tenure he freed the media from legislative and executive shackles, he abolished Press Censorship.

as the PM's convey approached the defence bhavan compounds people 2-3 miles away could hear the whistles and shouts of the sharp and alert army jawans. colonel prithivi was the officer on duty today to supervise the security at the entrance of the masive defence bhavan compound this is the same structure that was constructed and used by the british in their 300 years of indian occupation those days it used to be called the royal army head quarters, the rooms corridors of the premises once lived by british stalwarts such as lord james hutton and colonel mavericks.

after india got freedom the compound was renovated and additional building structures, annexes and extentions constructed to house the massive indian army personnel, currently 15 thousand to be precise.

indian defence minister george matthews was waiting outside to recieve the PM as his vehicle came to a halt at the main door along with army chief general krishnaswamy.

Let's change genre

by Jaszalcatraz » Sun Jan 11, 2004 12:48 am

Sorry shaik uzma and The Creator....i think ppl wud respond better if we changed the genre, this spy thing is tiring to our dull brains. but if you dont like where we're heading, lets revert to the original.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Halfway around the world, Keuhlar was admiring the Japanese piece of work in front of him. Unknown to his wife and kids he has been a homosexual for the last 4 years.

Hi Jasz,

oh ho NO, you guys are getting a totally wrong picture here, do you really think people are screwing around in the langely hd. quarters, or for that matter first thing in the morning Raj is going for a quicky.

I want people to understand that this is going to be a very dignified project and I don't want the characters to fool around as if this is a TV serial or something.

I want to make this a high profile espionage where an indian (desi) guy will shake the world and uncle sam and the goras in 10 downing are depending on him, this is a first...!!!!

so just relax and watch for the new pages, as i said before we do need to to some editing to make things look presentable, which I will have to sit down and take care of it.

Cheers.!!!

Keep going shaik. u re doing a Good job.

A small request. Can you come up with original names for the ministers and generals. Current ACM's name for Army General and Jethwani for advani doesnt gell with the plot.

My story writing skills arent great, but a story revolving around a RAW agent air dropped into pakistan along the with 5th para SF covert operations group to eliminate the network of a rogue pakistan army general, representing the fundamentislist side of pakistani army, who allied with NWFP fundamentalists and Al-qaida, took control of the nukes and threatens to launch strike at american allies in europe and stage a coup in Islamabad to steal power from general ashraff, would make a good story.

And if you can throw in Agosta class subs of PN, IN Kilos and Akulas for Under water submarine games, IN Krivaks and Delhis, Virat, MKI's and Tejas, Area 22 in Vindhya mountains and pre-emptive stratergic missile strike, few Tu22's and Mirages, 333th missile group readying silos in Bhutan for second strike and a touch of politics, then it will be a super thriller.

Krishnaswamy ..the name that brought the image of disipline and authoritative soldier. Everyone had respect for him, his career graph went up when he was chosen to lead the army of india...something which he dreamt off when he joined the IMA, dehra Dun. His pride was his grey plum mustachios .

Only few knew , that he the tamil bhramin ,had married his best friend's widow , Razia, and Aruna was not is biological daughter .and he knew about Raj and Sulu...................infact he knew more than what RAW knew.........................that was his job anyway !!!

THE PEACE MAKER

The Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC) of the government of India analyzes intelligence data from the Intelligence Bureau and the RAW, Directorate of Military Intelligence, Directorate of Naval Intelligence, Directorate of Air Intelligence. JIC has its own secretariat that is under the Cabinet Secretariat.

The National Security Council (NSC), established on 24 August 1990, includes the Prime Minister as Chairman, and the Home Minister, External Affairs Minister, Defence Minister and Finance Minister as members.

=============================================

This was one of the rare meetings that takes place in the Indian Capital (this will be explained later pages) a hand full of 12 men and only three women present in the meeting room, at the oval shaped conference table were:

1. PM. jethwani. seated at the norhtern end of the table in his usual ash greay woollen jodhpuri, that matched the cool winters of new delhi.

2. next to him was chief of PM's cabinet prakash surana trusted friend and colleague of the PM for the last 30 years, surana gave company in the hard times of struggle in his early days of political life in delhi.

3. next to surana was one of the three ladies Ms. vrinda murthy who was chief secretary at the PMO it was normal for her to be in any meetings of the PM to make notes and write the minutes vrinda was prepared with her state of the art IBM thinkpad. vrinda was a topper at st.stephens in her masters in political science, a very pretty soprty woman who loved to do bowling, tennis and hiking in her spare time.

4. next to vrinda was the defense minister george matthews in his casual khadi kurta hand washed and pressed personally by himself, george who never married was a simple and clean person right from his days when he worked as a mechanical engineer in the crowded town of dadar in mumbai at the lakshmi mills where he found the first job opportunity as an assistant engineer when he moved to mumbai from bihar on the look out for work. (his life and struggle will be in the next pages)

5. next to the defense minister was an unknown figure seated. no one in the room knew him except the PM, surana and george matthews and krshnaswamy. dressed in a navy blue woollen suit stylishly cut, white shirt and striped tie. six feet two inches, very fair complexion and atheletic, he looked more like a basketball player, very sharp personality. george introduced him in the meeting saying "this gentleman here with me is Dilbaaz Khan representing the MI" everyone shook hands with, dilbaaz in his mid thirties was extremely comfortable with the other high ranking and senior gathering in the room.

5. dilbaaz who was only a major by rank was extremely comfortable with the seniors present in the meeting room. dilbaaz was the super brain jethwani and george trusted most in the difficult times, such as the hindair plane highjack drama he had handled with his elite team of shooters taking two of the four highjackers alive killing two and only one passenger getting injured in the whole episode.

dilbaaz was the second son of brigadier gulsher khan a personal friend of the PM his older brother shamsher khan was currently heading the northern command of indian airforce at pathankot, the only girl in the family kid sister gulnaaz was a final year student at the university was yale in washinton dc. who was already marked for a plump position by surana at the UN right after her masters in the international law she was persuing as major in her studies at yale.

dilbaaz's family represented a rare and unique combination of the elitist patriotic and powerful group in the minority community of the nation. who are available and willing to serve and sacrifice anything for their country.

6. next to dilbaaz seated at the table was the DG of naval intelligence kuldip singh suri a career navy officer whose passion for the sea was legendry he could swim underwater for three days without food. his keen interest to upgrade the naval intelligence with the state of the art israeli made tuzy-sub radars had already paid off and indian navy was considered the best in the world next only to the US big brother.

7. seated next to DG kuldip was the his counterpart at the indian airforce Lt. commander jagdish dahliya a senior pilot and head of the air intelligence directorate. dahliya was in his mid fiftees a specialist in taking air reconnance flights over neighbouring china and pakistan, instrumental in beefing up the department by the phalcon awacks. he still loved fun flying taking his little daughter kareena up in the air on a training cessna aircraft that was one of the perks most senior airforce officers were accustomed to. today for the meeting he was ready with his report on the overall air intelligence scenario in and around the nation.

nitpicks:

1.Awacs, not Awacks.

2. Swimming underwater for three days!

3. By Sub Radars do you mean submarine radars? They dont have any on subs.

heheheee.......just paying attention to minute details.

ONE YEAR BEFORE

in a crowded souk in the center of Tehran Dilbaaz was seated in one of the smoke filled Shisha rooms that are commonly located around every block of Tehran, the ones with in the souk famous for their quality and orginal flavour serving the choicest hookhas and chai that is taken plain with a small piece of misry in your mouth.

Iranian, arabic and mediterrainian music filled the atmosphere with every hookha / shisha joint playing their brand of music, the narrow lanes and bylanes of the souk over flowing with shops and stores stacked with goods as varied as iranian rugs to stereos and watches, iranian jwellery, oudh and local perfumes. shopkeepers calling, inviting, and some of them pulling the customers to their merchandise.

Dilbaaz dressed in an ordinary looking Jeans and light brown woollen jacket looked like any other irani in the souk with a slightly unshaven face did not look any different from others around him the. speaking in fluent persian he asked for a hookha and chai, number of men and women seated around him did notice him due to his atheletic figure which looked like the only this different from other irani gents that they were sloppy and untoned pysique. few minutes later an extreme beauty dressed in a jeans and black Tshirt came and sat in front of him. speaking in persian she goes 'sky is blue' exactly what dilbaaz was expecting her to say and he said his part of the counter 'but the horizon can be red'

inside his mind dibaaz could not believe his eyes such a stunning beauty could be the deadliest female in the middle east.

this was habiba the atomic bomb as she was known in her circles a key executive of sunrise, her mission to make iran the power in the region.

sunrise although a very secret org was all private, indpendant in nature with their own funding channel and financial capacities.

in a few seconds dilbaaz and habiba were laughing and speaking like old friends no one could tell that they just met for the first time. people around them as usual busy playing domino or cards or just chatting with friends men and women mostly middle aged and young iranians, though there were number of arabs, europeans few german and french. tehran boasted to have thousands of iranians with french or german citizenships as most have them migrated to europe after and during the iranian revolution of the early eighties. who could forget the great Ayatollah Khomenie who changed the history of middle east by ousting the shah. but almost thirty years of the revolutions iranians had changed and adopted a modern and moderate outllook fo life and become prgressive. many of these people returning to iran after decades of self isolation were too keen to see iran take part in evry sphere of developments.

dilbaaz landed in tehran two days before as feroz derbeshti on a green pakistani passport, his support dept. at the RAW had arranged flawless and precise travel documents giving him a background as a pakistani citizen with iranian origin from a third generation irani family settled in karachi owning the trade mark irani restaurant business serving the famous biryani, chai and bakery items.

with his fluency in persian language and familiar looks there was no problem for him to pass through immigration check and customs at the tehran airport.

though this was dilbaaz's third entry into iran, a year before as kashmiri business delegate from new delhi and several years before that as a student learning persian and the irani culture.
