Life Is Fine! *****

Life Is Fine!

I went down to the river,
I set down on the bank.
I tried to think but couldn't,
So I jumped in and sank.

I came up once and hollered!
I came up twice and cried!
If that water hadn't a-been so cold
I might've sunk and died.

But it was Cold in that water! It was cold!

I took the elevator
Sixteen floors above the ground.
I thought about my baby
And thought I would jump down.

I stood there and I hollered!
I stood there and I cried!
If it hadn't a-been so high
I might've jumped and died.

But it was High up there! It was high!

So since I'm still here livin',
I guess I will live on.
I could've died for love--
But for livin' I was born

Though you may hear me holler,
And you may see me cry--
I'll be dogged, sweet baby,
If you gonna see me die.

Life is fine! Fine as wine! Life is fine!

Can You Be My Face Of Life?

by HH » Mon Aug 01, 2005 8:34 pm

Can You Be My Face Of Life?

Can You Be My Face Of Life?

I have been places
I have seen faces
But when I see your eyes
The eyes filled with dreams
I felt I met my dream girl

I have been places
I have seen faces
But when I saw your smile
The smile filled with cheers
I felt I met my angel

I have been places
I have seen faces
But when I see your heart
A heart filled with innocence and patience
I felt I met my heart

I have been places
I have seen faces
Can You Be My Face Of Life?

I Will Be There ...

Image

If one day you feel like crying...
Call me.
I don't promise that I will make you laugh,
But I can cry with you

If one day you want to run away--
Don't be afraid to call me.
I don't promise to ask you to stop...
But I can run with you

Image

Image

If one day you don't want to listen
to anyone...
Call me.
I promise to be there for you.
And I promise to be very quiet.

But if one day you call...
And there is no answer...
Come fast to see me.
Perhaps I need you.

Friendly Bear

I lay on my chest
And I thought it best
To pretend I was having an evening rest;
I lay on my tum And I tried to hum But nothing
particular seemed to come. My face was flat
On the floor, and that Is all very well for an
acrobat; But it doesn't seem fair To a Friendly
Bear To stiffen him out with a basket-chair.
And a sort of sqoze Which grows and grows
Is not too nice for his poor old nose, And a
sort of squch Is much too much For his neck
and his mouth and his ears and such.

My Life

My Life

My life's been good

My life's been bad

But I've always had

My Mum and Dad

My life's been a mess its been full of stress

My life's been mad

My life's been 2 different people -

One was charming and one was alarming

My life's full of confusion -

Which one's bad, which one is amusing

My life's been annoying but I've been enjoying

My life's been fun - look at all that I've done

My life has been mostly good -

Whats the point being in a mood

Traverse : Into The Future

by HH » Sun Aug 14, 2005 11:37 am

Traverse : Into The Future

Traverse : Into The Future

What I say now may be elementary -
Once man unravels time and its mystery
We travel to the past by memory
Imagination’s what our future will be

Delve in the theories of the human minds
It’s heaven or hell or in between those lines
Push to one direction, a radical turn
We see this paradox a great concern

We have explored it almost endlessly -
How we can change the course of history
Kaleidoscopic the world seems to be
We need a mechanism to set us free

Traverse the unreached boundaries ...
Where there’s no war, poverty, and pollution
Traverse the possibilities ...
Where there’s no environmental devastation
Traverse the unknown energy ...
Where there’s a parallel dimension disguised
Traverse levels of this mystery ...
Where we will be spending the rest of our lives

These Are The Things We Could Talk About

These Are The Things We Could Talk About

These are the things we could talk about

for instance; rising prices; inflation;

non-availability of foodgrainss, things

we could build our theses upon; poor

children in the streets, hunger like acid

burning down their tongues, our country-

green fast disappearing, the morning sun

coming out from somewhere among the denuded trees

like love betrayed. Other things happened around us;

The cries of our women and children still fresh from

behind the cold walls

of partition. So much more.

The woods are lovely dark and deep.

But we would rather look away,

give a good to ransom, Quietly forget,

that bloody country with clipped wings

flying out of Nehru's hands.

The God of Small Things - Arundhati Roy

by HH » Wed Aug 17, 2005 5:53 pm

The God of Small Things - Arundhati Roy - (New York: Random House,1997) 321 pages $21.95[/b]

Review
...

Set in a small town in Kerala, The God of Small Things is about a family, seen from the perspective of seven-year-old Rahel. She and her twin brother, Estha, live with their mother, Ammu, who was married to a Bengali, the children's Baba, but from whom she is divorced. Ammu and, therefore, the twins seem to live on sufferance in the Ayemenem house with their grandmother, uncle, and grand-aunt Baby. The family owns a pickle factory that comes into conflict with the Communists.

The family is awaiting the arrival of Sophie Mol, the twins' half-English cousin and the narrative moves backwards and forwards to the arrival and the aftermath of the death by drowning of Sophie Mol and an ill fated love affair between Ammu and the untouchable Velutha. Rahel returns to Aymanam as an adult to a decimated household, a dysfunctional twin and a decaying house.

That, as Rahel would say, is the purely practical way of looking at it. There is much more.

The book is certainly well written and some comparison has been made with Rushdie. However, unlike Rushdie's work, this is easy reading and very accessible. There are some nice turns of phrase and very interesting images. A character dies aged 31 at "a viable, die-able age."

Like most first novels, it is heavily autobiographical and the child character Rahel is so clearly Roy herself that she is a completely plausible character with whom the reader can empathise. In fact, the book's strength lies in its portrayal of the family, its weakness is the story. ...

Interdependence - Quotes for Those that Love Gardens, Gardening and the Green Way

* When we try to pick anything out by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the universe.
- John Muir

* How can we fret and stew sub specie aeternitatis - under the calm gaze of ancient Tao? The salt of the
sea is in our blood; the calcium of the rocks is in our bones; the genes of ten thousand generations
of stalwart progenitors are in our cells. The sun shines and we smile. The winds rage and we bend
before them. The blossoms open and we rejoice. Earth is our long home.
- Stewart W. Holmes, 1973

* One could not pluck a flower without troubling a star.
- Francis Thompson

* As is the inner, so is the outer;
as is the great, so is the small;
as it is above, so it is below;
there is but One Life and Law:
and he that worth it is One.
Nothing is inner, nothing is outer;
nothing is great, nothing is small;
nothing is high, nothing is low,
in the Divine Economy.
- Hermetic Axiom

* As is the human body, so is the cosmic body.
As is the human mind, so is the cosmic mind.
As is the microcosm, so is the macrocosm.
As is the atom, so is the universe.
- The Upanishads

Tsunami - Life Goes On

Tsunami - Life Goes On

A little boy plays in the beach
Cuddling himself with the realms of nature
The scene looked so serene, so beautiful
One swift blow changed all that.

The pain in watching the destruction of the beautiful thing
Was a pain that burnt her heart
The loss savaged her life
The world gasped, a promise of life had been broken
New promises of love were being made.

Time passed by, the new smoothed over the old
The World moved on, life goes on
Soon everybody forgot that a
"Little boy had once played on this beach."

Aftermath Of Hurricane Katrina

Aftermath Of Hurricane Katrina

This is NOT a poem but a PLEA.
No matter your faith,I ask to take a moment and pray with me.
WE are ALL family,WE are ALL ONE....ALL effected by Katrinas HIT and RUN.
To her it was all just land, sand and wood -to cower beneath her wrath and surcome.
Apperantly she doesnt know OUR history all to well.
WE do NOT RUN when we are HIT,WE do NOT Cower but STAND STRONG,WE do NOT surcome but RISE UP like the sun!
Lives have been lost,Others out of touch, survivors pulled by air to saftey, others by boat.
NO matter where you LIVE-we ALL have been touched, tears of worry, wonder and joy and disbelief.
No amount of words, prices, pictures can really tell a story when you are caught in the aftermath.
Everyone has a story, there are few moments in our lifetime that leave an impact that we carry in our hearts, minds and souls.
I am told that god doesnt give us more then we can handle,i'm still searching for the meaning of this.
SO much devistation,So much grief,So much seems lost but even a single seed rises up from beneath!
THIS is NOT a Poem but a PLEA.
Please take a moment and pray with me.
TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY HURRICANE KATRINA~
KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN OUR THOUGHTS~
OUR HEARTS GO OUT TO YOU~
YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!

Early Earth Atmosphere Was Hydrogen-Rich, Favorable To Life

Early Earth Atmosphere Was Hydrogen-Rich, Favorable To Life

A new University of Colorado at Boulder study indicates Earth in its infancy probably had substantial quantities of hydrogen in its atmosphere, a surprising finding that may alter the way many scientists think about how life began on the planet.

Published in the April 7 issue of Science Express, the online edition of Science Magazine, the study concludes traditional models estimating hydrogen escape from Earth's atmosphere several billions of years ago are flawed. The new study indicates up to 40 percent of the early atmosphere was hydrogen, implying a more favorable climate for the production of pre-biotic organic compounds like amino acids, and ultimately, life.

New Year ...

At the sound of the tolling midnight bell
a brand new year will begin.
Let's raise our hopes in a confidant toast,
to the promise it ushers in.

May your battles be few, your pleasure many,
your wishes and dreams fulfilled.
May your confidence stand in the face of loss
and give you the strength to rebuild.

May peace of heart fill all your days
may serenity grace your soul.
May tranquil moments bless your life
and keep your spirit whole.

Happy Birthday, Mother!

Happy Birthday, Mother,
Even though you might prefer
Life without these markers,
Each too public to defer.

Now that you are Eighty +,
Bring to us your own Sweet Memories,
That we might celebrate your life,
Rejoicing all night long.

Each of us has love to bring,
Each a special song to sing,
To lose your heart among.
Happy Birthday, Mother!

Rainy Day Blues

by HH » Sat Sep 24, 2005 12:13 pm

Rainy Day Blues

Remember when you loved me,
And we talked everyday?
Somehow it all fell apart,
Complications in our way.

I guess it doesn't matter
The days they move along,
But I always will remember
Our favourite, special song.

Those months I will remember
Even though I know they're gone.
We knew it wouldn't work,
So decided to move on.

It was a very special time
And I never will forget,
Those beautiful words you said to me
Still play out in my head.

These thoughts have been on my mind,
For weeks and months on end.
I didn't mean to hurt you,
My very special friend.

I hope you're feeling wonderful,
Happy, strong, and free,
And I never will forget that time,
When "You Sang To Me".

A, B, C’s of a Poet’s Prayer

by HH » Wed Sep 28, 2005 6:18 pm

A, B, C’s of a Poet’s Prayer:

All that I am, all I would be,
Bring forth from the deepest part of me.
Caught in your spell command my effort.
Draw fervor, language of passion
Everlasting in translation, trigger tongue’s rapport.

Form portraits sculpted from wordless feelings,
Give eloquence exquisite frame and meaning.
Help me hold you to heart, show you without,
Image you, dearest love’s face.
Joyous in celebration, compel your coming out.

Know that I care, work hard to prepare,
Love what I do, as only dare you compare.
Mark my commitment to this, our passage,
Now aligned purpose in tandem,
Oblivious in isolation, script heart’s message.

Present stories sketched from limitless emotions,
Quest essence luminous of memory and notions,
Record worth of life’s lessons in discovering you.
Sentence me, I promise fulfillment!
Tender in contemplation, trace pilgrimage true.

Underscore who I am, what We mean,
Verbal garden adventures depict ardor’s scene.
Words weave their spells, fingers find keys,
‘X’-cite me! Interpretations I’ll fashion,
Yearn in anticipations, render soul’s release.

Zenith of dreams, height of imagination...
