Every Begining Has An End

by Hymn » Tue Nov 08, 2005 9:52 pm

This quote has become very famous after the movie Matrix. It was originally said by Lord Krishna in the Bhagwat Gheeta.

But, How many of you really agree with it?

If at all, everybegining had an end then the all-knowing, all-pervading, and timeless god, one who himself said this, must have an end!!!

How can this be?I do not believe that everybegining has an end. Some never will.

I dont believe GOD had a beginning or has an end. HE was always there and always will be.

May you be treated to a song
And heaven cracks
A song falls softly from the light of heaven.

Does Geeta really say that? I'm surprised as its contradictory to the notion that soul never dies.

The concept will die along with human coil, but neither will GOD die nor will the human soul. :)

Daisy,You say a circle has no beginning and no end.But look closer,How did the circle come into being, someone drew it, right? Then that someone who drew it had actually started and then ended the process of drawing which resulted in the circle.
It's all relative,if you were to juts see a circle after completion the you would say that it has no beginning and no end, but if you were to see it being drawn then it would have a beginning and an end.

I dont believe GOD had a beginning or has an end. HE was always there and always will be.

Alexis,Samething applies here, just because we were not present at the time when GOD happened to come around, or just because we do not understand how, it does not mean that he does not have a beginning or an end.It just depend on when you happen to see an incident and when you stop seeing it.

So the begining of an incident is when you begin to see it, and the end is when you stop observing it.Thus we cannot justify things whoose time span is greater than the time which we observe it for.

The belief that GOD doesnt have a beginning or an end depends on your religious faith. In Islam, that belief holds true. So we're all entitled to our own opinions.

Begning is when you begin to see it and end is when you stop observing it.

1. Holds good when I speak about myself.

One can measure according to ones knowledge.

Example 1:

Suns heat.

One can measure the SUNs heat according to the measurment one knows.

Its would just be a approximation.

Actual temprature, well if you have the resources go test it.

Similarly, all one can comprehend is about ones lifespan.

Actual time? Well live the length of time and find out.

God. Define the beginning then we can determine the end.

Defination of beggining is innaccurate so comprehension of an end will be erraneous.

Well...for starters, this quote was never a part of the Gita. It was just a part of the movie, and since the movie had so many parallels to the Gita, this quote is often mistakenly ascribed to it.

And I don't agree with DQ's premise about the limitations in our thinking. I'd like to point him towards one of my favourite thinkers of all time - Ed de Bono. Think out of the box!!
