A favicon is a small icon that you can see on the tab of your browser(if you are using mozilla/netscape and the types). It is easier to navigate that way between tabs.

Not Exactly. When u use tabbed browsing, each webpage displays its favicon on the tab so as to aid smooth navigation. For Example, when i browse Google & orkut these Favicon's appear on the browser's tab:

So having a unique Favicon for FHDB,wud be useful for quick accessing etc

I like your signature :D

I've been using Firefox since the time it was called Firebird. IE has been the 'best' web browser by default (just like Deccan Chronicle) because of lack or absense of other browsers. But Firefox beats the living daylights out of IE :D

Well,Thanx.Back at Home i use IE but ever since I came to Hyd,I've been using Firefox. It sure is a nifty browser with loads of customisations and add-ons.The tabbed browsing feature sure is a cool one.I had also used Opera but somehow didn't like it.

Can anyone explain the advantages of firefox over IE for computer illiterate like me? I have not faced any problems with IE till now, still I switched to firefox cos of pop-ups and browser viruses in IE. Other than that advantage, I dont see any difference between IE and FF.

Moreover, Firefox doesnt let me connect to my ftp site and it doesnt let me log into my yahoo mail (keeps asking me for password). I dont have these problems with IE.
May the Fries be with you!

The chief reason for me to switch over to Firefox from IE was the sheer customability of FF. One can tweak FF to any extent possible and make it suit to one's own needs. One of my prime tasks on the net is downloading and IE does'nt have any Downloading support.I invariably have to use 3rd party download managers like DAP of Flashget. But in FF there is an integrated download manager which lets me manage my downloads.

another pretty useful featurein FF is the Pop-up blocker.Popups are annoying to say the least and in IE i had to use Google toolbar to block the popups. But in FF there is an inbuilt popup blocker.

There are many other advantages of firefox over IE.I have stated my own preferences. You can read more about the advantages of FF over IE HERE

Add the http://www.fullhyderabad.com site to your favourites, and then reopen http://www.fullhyderabad.com. You should be able to see it instead of IE's default blue 'e'. But when you empty your cache, you'll see the default favicon again - its an IE bug actually. Safari works the reverse - you'll see the default 'e' favicon when the site is not added to favourites, but disappears when you add it to your favourites.
