Hey ycr, I didn't check this site for a few weeks because I moved into a new apt where none of my neighbours has cable internet, and I've been busy at work. So I don't really know what the errors were.

When I access the fullhyd discussion boards site the first time (before logging in) it says headers already sent. Mods: I wanted to tell you this before.. the session_start() method is called more than once in your index.php script before the authentication. That needs to be fixed.

Another thing is when I log in the first time, it asks me to log in again.. why does it need me to authenticate 2 times to have a successful login?

every one faces that problem...

the best thing to do is to log-in to the PM inbox. that way u do not have to log-in twice and the updates in the various threads also remain.

This forum runs on phpBB 2.0.6 ,which is OLD!

Even normal people can bring down this forum by copying some code from the internet and using it.

Upgrade is recommended or it is only a matter of time until this forum becomes a target.

This is the Message from the PhpBB Development Team Given out

sometime in December:

This is a reminder to all users to upgrade as soon as possible to 2.0.11. Remember, the issue leading to this release was extremely serious. It gave rise to the possibility for persons to "install" scripts, delete files and otherwise access your system. If you have upgraded, be sure to check your account/system for suspicious files, etc. If you have any concerns please raise them in the support forum here at phpbb.com.

You should always be aware of what files are present on your system, that is good practice. If you run your own server you should install (wherever) possible tripwire or similar applications to limit the potential damage exploits (in phpBB and other software) may cause.

Now, let me reiterate something ... we do take security issues seriously. It's incredibly infuriating for us to read comments such as "I don't think the developers do take these things seriously", utter utter tripe and bolderdash. Equally we have complaints about notifications of new releases. I agree, something which pushes info on new releases is required. I've noted this internally before and perhaps now we'll get this implemented. However you can be notified of new package availability by "Monitoring" the phpBB releases at Sourceforge.

Please be aware that you should be fully aware of what software you are using. While we can (and will) do better at giving users notification in future it is your installation ... always keep an eye out for new releases, be it phpBB or anything else.

Recently there was aworm called "Santy" which was out to attack Forums

that were still Running the older version of PhpBB....But Google had

Stopped its explosion....It is a matter of time before another such

worm hits the Net.....Better to be Safe Than Sorry....

Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.

Even I get the error sometimes when I click on the last post. It happens when the last actual post is in one page, but the thread goes to the next page. Think its a Phb software error. Seen it on other forums too.

Hi everyone,

We have been following this thread, thanks for posting on it. A project we've been on for a long while is on revamping fullhyd.com. As part of that, everything is changing, including the DBs. This should be done in a couple of months.

As for the security issue with phpBB that was pointed out, we use a version of PHP itself that addresses that problem.

fullhyd.com experiences continuously increasing traffic (it grew 300% in 2004), and while we continuously upgrade hosting features, there are issues once in a while. However, the nighttime issues have us foxed. Our traffic is high during the days. In any case, we'll look into that.

Thank you very much for using fullhyd.com.

Regards,

fullhyd.com
