They mean something if the methodology followed is scientific and made publis.

The methodology used for Extrapolating the opinions from a small smaple is always important.

Also the way you takes the opinions from different regions and the siiues you asks to the people also matters a lot.

For Ex, if you say, 75% of the people in the Telagana region wants separate state and hence they want to vote for Congress-TRS alliance and hence it will get 75 out of 105 seats in Telagana region. Then you cant just extrapolate that result and apply to thw whole state and cant say that Congress-TRS alliance will gets 75% of the AP assembly seats.

It is absolutely wrong.

If you goto Coasta and Rayalaseema, the voting pattern will change completely.

and also you have TRS strong only in 3 districts and if you say TRS-congress alliance gets 19 out of 20 seats in these 3 districts, you cant extrapolate blindly and can say all the 9 districts in Telangana follows the same pattern.

So what matters is the methodologies that followed in the polls and the way you makes the extrapolation out of the small smaple you collected.

i can understand that. what i meant was, the elctions shud've been held close together say within 3-5 days and not over a month.

Thats also not possible.

You need to mobilise the security forces from one place to another.

For it , it takes time.

By the way, I translated the questions in that post. Want to look into them? go and have ur opinions there.

U think gujarat has a successful prohibition model? they are continuing only coz of offending Gandhi-bhakts. Liquor is freely available there and even politicians bootleg it. the prohibition there is just a boon for the people in power and the mafia.

PERFECT ANSWER.

Let me tell you the history of Telagana Movement.

Before KCR came up, this issue was raised two times and few telangana people became CM's also (like Chenna reddy, J Vengala Rao,..).

So Raising this issue and becoming CM already happened. But nothing more happened for Telangana.

Coming to this time, the political situations came like this:

Initially, KCR was one of the noted telengana leader in TDP. And he expected more recognition in the party. But he was dominated by other telengana leaders like vijayarama rao, devender goud,.. in the party. So he frustrated and guessed that there won't be a great future in the government. He raised the telengana issue with few sympathizers. Frankly speaking, He started this revolution very efficient way that nobody expected. He received good response from the people of telangana and higher officials. He was able to attract the crowd but not the leaders. So he invited the leaders from different parties.

Coming to Tiger Narendra, He was one of the greatest leaders in AP-BJP. He too has frustration in his party as he is not getting recognition eventhough he was one of the founders of AP-BJP.

So both together started the revolution and moving forward, Response becoming high and satisfactory. But in this duration big parties like, TDP, Congress and BJP are followed just "Wait and See" policy. And taken care that, not loosing their party followers and leaders.

Unexpectedly, Assembly got dissolved, undeclared war has been started. Political parties hold hardly their vote bank and leaders. So TRS was unable to increase their sympathizers and leaders. One of the leftist parties supported the TRS without changing the goal.

Till here, the goal of TRS is: "Separate telengana and its development"

By days are going, TRS decided that it unable won the assembly seats with existing strength. So what it has to do? Goal has been changed to “Defeat the Chandra Babu". So immediately Congress and another left party came to tie-up with TRS.

Now the Goal of TRS is: "Defeat TDP government".

Congress gave few seats to TRS nearly 40. What's great in that ? In those seats many rebels are there. In some seats any two of the candidates are fighting from Congress, TRS, CPI and CPM.

I guess, Finally TRS may win nearly 20 assembly seats. Once the government has formed, who ever it may be, if they wants few assemble seats, splitting of TRS will be very easy like BSP in UP. 1/3 of the splitting is valid. If government offers ministry, the fellow will go with 5 MLA's.

So finally TRS will be ignored, Separate telengana issue will be sleep like previous cases.

Unnecessarily, for political gains, leaders trying to get benefit these kinds of sentimental issues.

If Gujarat is anything to go by, prohibition is a complete failure. Not only is alcohol readily available to the rich, but also the poor now have to resort to illegal brews, with a consequent rise in criminal activity and deaths from methanol poisoning.

It has been demonstrated time and again that prohibition does not lead to a substantial reduction in alcohol consumption. In recent years Haryana experimented with prohibition. The experiment was an utter failure. After the lifting of prohibition in Haryana, liquor consumption has increased to a level higher than that of pre-prohibition days. Instead of making people give up drinking alcohol or even encouraging temperance, it some how has the opposite effect.

If you are interested , go and download a PDF document on the effect of Total Prohibition in various states in India and in America at

http://www.advancedge.com/gd/pdf/%5BA+M ... 0India.PDF

If you still not satisfied and want total prohibition, god only can help you.

The same document I told you says somehting about AP "

Take the case of Andhra Pradesh. When alcohol breweries were shut, it resulted in the loss of hundreds of legitimate jobs. The state went virtually bankrupt. The government attempted to counter the budgetary deficit by raising taxes and the costs of earlier subsidised rice, the staple food of millions of Indians.

Despite this, the deficit continued to spiral out of control reaching a third of the annual budget outlay. Finally, the Reserve Bank of India threatened to withdraw the overdraft facility to the state.

The government then relented and introduced the AP Prohibition Act 1997, which effectively removed prohibition in favour of a more regulated alcohol retailing system."
