If the telugu people want any real all-round development to take place, then splitting Andhra Pradesh into only 2 states,i.e., Telangana and Seema Andhra is not the solution.
Since the political parties in AP feel that small states can lead to better governance and development but a separate Telangana state would have an area of 114,840 km2 (11th), and
a population of 30,696,520 (11th) per the 2001 census would be bigger than Bihar, West Bengal and Kerala in terms of area. We can see what development is taking place
in Jharkand or Chattisgarh after bifurcation.
So instead of dividing AP in only 2 states, it should be ideally split into 7 states. They are 1. North Telangana ; 2. South Telangana ; 3. West Rayalaseema ;
4. East Rayalaseema ; 5. North Andhra ; 6. Central Andhra & 7. South Andhra.
1. North or Uttara Telangana would comprise the districts of upper basin of Godavari river region of : Adilabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Warangal & Khammam.
2. South or Dakshina Telangana would comprise the districts of Manjira river basin and upper basin of Krishna riverregions of : Medak, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Nalgonda & Mahabubagar.
3. West Rayalaseema would comprise the large districts sharing borders with Karnataka namely Kurnool and Anantapur.
4. East Rayalaseema would comprise of two large districts in close proximity with neighbouring Tamil Nadu,i.e., Cuddapah and Chittoor.
5. North or Uttara Andhra would comprise of 3 districts in close proximity with neighbouring Orissa namely, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram & Visakhapatnam.
6. Central Andhra would comprise of districts of lower basins of Krishna and godavari river regions: East Godavari, West Godavari, Guntur and Krishna.
7. South Andhra would comprise of 2 large districts surrounding the lower basin of Penna river region of Ongole and Nellore.
Since time immemorial, rivers have played a very important role in the development of a region and each of Godavari, Krishna, Penna, Manjira and Vamsadhara would be seen of vital importance than ever before.
Leaders of Telangana often cited that their language and in particular the slang is different from that of what is spoken in the rest of the state. Yes, that is indeed true.
But they should have also highlighted that the slang of telugu spoken in Karimnagar is very much different than the slang of telugu spoken in Mahabubnagar.
Similarly within Rayalaseema, telugu spoken in Kurnool is very much different than the one spoken in Chittoor and the telugu spoken in Srikakulam is again different than the one spoken in Guntur.
Hence, based on the slang of telugu spoken and to hold the words of telangana leaders in a greater stead, Andhra Pradesh has to be divided into 7 states and then only we can see
the sort of development that small states/UT like Chandigarh and Delhi can boast of.
