Dear Hyderabadis,
I share with concern and anxiety, the feelings and sentiments expressed in every post made on line here.It is sad that in their pursuit for TRP ratings and in their rat race to sensationalise and commercialise, the issues are consciously and constantly blown out of proportions.
I have satrted my love for Hyderabad about 30 years back, when i was intorduced to the city by my paternal uncle, to do the most prestigious professional course. Since then i have moved up the ladder in life and left the city. But i have kept my acquaintances alive and i keep visiting the city, every now and then for personal and official reasons.Every time i visit, i am more and more impressed with the city, its people, its food, its Birla temple, its buddha statue, standing tall and cerene amidst the lovley waters of HUSSAIN sagar.
Its road side shops, theatres, briyani stalls, autos, and the surging crowds at Secunderabad, compared to a contrasting silence at HYDERABAD, (Nampally), the Taj group of hotels and its excellent food for value....i can go on llisting ..it is countless.each one of them keep on impressing me. But alas what is happening now. Irresponsible TV coverage and reporting, the ugly political face and its cruel play all are competing with each other to paint the city as full of blood and crime....Far from truth as evidenced by the staements received from those who continue to make a living there day in and day out.
Do we know the impact of such senceless sensationalisation:
1.It sends bad signals not only about the city but also about the country.
2.It sends waves of anxiety and fear among the kith and kin of those who happen to stay in HYDERABD
3.It gives an idea to unruly elements to make the use of a confusuing situation to meet their ends.
4.In the guise of students rowdys take the upper hand.
5.The future of hundreds of students is kept hanging because of strikes/protests and what not.
6.The dreams of the parents AND the hard earned money with which they are making their wards to study are both being given a decent burial.
It is time we protest, and we protest loud and clear so that the city gets its true image restored, sooner and faster..And last but not the least..Hyderabad..I continue to loveyou for all the natural charm that you possess indeed.
