But I don't think personal comments should be considered in the same league as discrimination. If I call someone stupid, it's not because the person is a muslim or a sikh or a gay or a taurean, but because I find him stupid.

i kinda agree with u, but one point, which could as well be the main point of ur arguement i disagree with is, if a person is stupid, there is no harm in calling him stupid, but if a person is stupid, its not a good thing calling him gay. just like, if a person is a terrorist, its fine calling him a terrorist, but if the same person is muslim, i think it would a big mistake calling him muslim., cos knowingly or unknowingly, we are accusing all the muslims who are nt terrorists.
well, this is just an example.
