Govt notifies ban on export of pulses
New Delhi, June 30. (PTI): The Government has notified the ban on export of more than ten types of pulses, which would remain in force till December 26 this year.
The notification by the Director General of Foreign Trade follows the decision of the Cabinet Committee on Prices last week, to ban pulses export to curb rising domestic prices.
As per the notification, the ban would remain in force for six months from the date of its issue (June 27). Further, it would not cover imports already effected against authorisations issued prior to the notification.
The ban applies to pulses including chickpea, dried leguminous vegetables, including shelled ones, peas, black matpe (urad), pigeon pea (arhar), small red beans, broad beans, red kidney beans and split beans. The ban is also applicable on exports of guarseed and lentils.
Go guys, go and stock up, if available. Most of the stores are not even having them, they say. Some have, and it is restricted to one bag (2lbs) per customer.
