AFAIK, "Maa-Ki-Kirkiri" doesnt belong to the (in)famous "Maa" series of gaalis. "Kirkiri" is a problem (or more rightly "a pain in the a$$"). "Maa Ki" just signifies that something is a HUGE pain in the a$$, ie, it denotes how big or troublesome the "kirkiri" is.

the "maa-ki" prefix is misleading to most ppl and they find it offensive. in reality it isnt.

Bhaad-Khau = Commission eater (sic) = Pimp

org: Hindi - colloquial slang

Synonym: Bhadvey

Telugu 'Bhadava' (as in 'haari bhadava' meaning you naughty kid) though is used very lovingly is unfortunately a telugized form of Bhadvey'

Now....shouldn't we stop bad mouthing the poor COW?

'nother hyderabadi cuss-word for our research: HOWLA

many think HOWLA stands for 'Idiot', 'Fool' etc.

But according to an informed source, it actually means a 'Eunuch' (hijda/kojja). In old hyderabad, Eunuchs were commonplace in the famed redlight Mehndi area. their adda was called some place whose name sounded like 'Howla' or 'Haawla' (i dont remember now) and so they were referred to as "Howle-log" and slowly as decades passed, it was used as a common insult.

do u ppl have any other take on its origin/meaning?

More ..!

by Dude In Town » Thu Jan 05, 2006 6:17 pm

Excellent ..good insights there !! I've never used Howla by itself ..its always HOWLAY PANDU ..or just PANDU, implying the Howla part. Does anyone konw who Pandu is ? Or is that just a word that rhymes with G*..U ??

I also remember hearing terms like ..howley pandu, gowley gandu ..

Gowley I think means ..country or really un-civil ..any ideas? ..

Next cuss words are telugu .. BONDHA, Pindakudu Sratham . I think they have something to do with death stuff like ashes n all that. Anyhu, why guess when I have all these scholars helping me out ...!
