guys........where do u get the second hand books that u REALLY need.....i mean.....i have heard abt abids....been there....but u get the same old Grisham and Follett......does anybody know where i might find a second hand Douglas Adams or a second hand JRRT.....pls let me know guys.....been a while in hyd and found nothing interesting in this place:-(

Dunno abt second-hand books but u cud get some good books at this place in West Marredpally - called Akshan Library..right opposite Indian Overseas Bank and Food World, take the lane into Habitat and this is to ur left..for Rs 250 (refundable) and a nominal rent u get some good buxs here

hey there is this place opposite tot eh legislative assembly called Best Books (above Tip Top dry cleaners)where you get all fab stuff. you can buy the books at reasonable price and on return you get half your money back. loads of good stuff!

hey....thanx a lot smriti......but reasonable i guess means something slightly less than 300 bucks:-)
i was thinking more in terms of 50....u know books used to be enjoyable before they became so costly.......and on top of that ppl here dont seem to have heard of douglas adams or robert heinlein or any guy worth reading for that matter....such a pity for a city trying so hard to get a cosmopolitan image

oh.. yeah, u do get great book for around 50-75 bucks at Best books. its a treasure house i tell.. why, just the other day, i got four books for around 120. in fact, itz got some books that have long been out of print too.... great place..

There\'s also this nice bookstore called M R on M G Road in Abids. It\'s a rather small one on the side of the road opp Cherma\'s, and leads upstairs where there are plenty of second hand books.

One more. On the road from Public Gardens to Nampally station, on the left side, there\'s something just called \"Books Exhibition\". Some good finds there.
