My opinion on this topic:
First thing I would like to tell them is: You have come to a different place, do not expect things to be as they used to be in your place.
Secondly, I travelled in gallis and thin lanes too. Everyday traffic there comprises of two wheelers, tractors, vegitable bandi vala, etc. I find it quite amazing how they manage without any problems. The show patience and give way to others, if some one is in a hurry they are allowed to go first, if someones bike is parked and is obstructing some ones way, he comes out and moves it aside till the bandi vala or who ever it is goes and then parks it agian. They take care not to park in such a way but space cruch makes it inevitable. And children play on these roads too. Till now I havent see a single accident or argument or any thing of this sort.
How come all this happens mostly only on main roads?
Thirdly, pleaseeeeeee dont bring in the lanes concept. I stongly feel it doesnt suit our traffic. Atleast it needs modification if we have to go for it. I do not understand how a lane concept will suit for a Car, Auto, Rikshaw, Bicycle, , Bullockcart, pedestriants. Can any one of you explan this to me? I feel its another area where we are importing American ideas.

Implementing speed based lanes aint diffycult, we have that from Lifestyle thru Paradise, its there on many other roads too. They have left most lane for 4Ws and right most lane for Bus, and others run in between. But the problem is no one really cares in which lane they are, they just want to move in general direction of their destiny.akhilis2cool wrote:thats well said kavita...esp. the point abt. lanes. the sheer variety of vehicles moving arnd. in the citry makes it difficult to b implemented. but i have seen car drivers sticking to there lanes even when the othe side of the road was empty. I guess the change is seeping in slowly but surely.

Its not American idea, its just a idea that works.Thirdly, pleaseeeeeee dont bring in the lanes concept. I stongly feel it doesnt suit our traffic. Thats one crazy road. During peak hours its the warast place u can b at. I guess its mainly becoz of the roads that become narrow at certain points, like near pantaloon, which ends up clogging the road and jamming the traffic till begumpet flyover...Red Combat wrote:Implementing speed based lanes aint diffycult, we have that from Lifestyle thru Paradise, its there on many other roads too. I know man. Most of the threads use that defense. After a while it become irritating that we cant think of anything else for a proper defence other then those 2 phrases.Habitual Perfectionist wrote:No offense meant to anyone in person. I somehow find it very saddening that Hyderabadis have this typical habit of defending themselves in such matters in the name of "laidback attitude" and "nawabi culture".
I believe Hyd will change, but at its own pace (cant comapre one city to another). There are several things that need to b changed here, and most of them have been mentioned in the above posts. My point is, that it may not happen at the same speed as we may want it to. Majority of the people jump traffic signals, spit wherever they wnat too...and so on. I am sure the things are only going to get better here. The Jackal wrote:I know man. Most of the threads use that defense. After a while it become irritating that we cant think of anything else for a proper defence other then those 2 phrases.Habitual Perfectionist wrote:No offense meant to anyone in person.
