This kind of social responsibilities or participance cannot be handled by everyone due to many reasons. I recommend you to get in touch with the local administration and force/convince/educate them in every manner and get the things done. Obviously they have all the man power and the finances in their pockets. The only thing lacking is its IMPLEMENTATION. :)

I guess I already said once, don't expect too much support from others, U lead from the front and the interested ones will definitely follow u. Goodluck.

Hello

Finally I can post again! For some reason my ID was blocked for the last two days. Oh well, moving on...........

Dr. Sreenu, Shyam and I met at CSIM Sat., Sept. 2 and had a fruitful discussion on:

1. What is the aim of our group

2. How to design a program for encouraging social entrpreneurship amongst doctors (this project is in collaboration with CSIM and DRF)

3. Volunteering activities for RTI camps in and around Hyderabad (Shyam and I later attended AID-Hyderabad mtg., who are very interested in bringing the RTI Act tool to more people)

4.Start brainstorming on small projects to take up around the city.

I am also looking for people really interested in helping with the TRAFFIC CONDITIONS IN HYDERABAD. If you have ideas, inputs and time to volunteer for meetings with traffic commissioner and other activities , let me know.

Feel free to pm or send me an e-mail.

Thanks

Not sure why this was posted here.

Anyways, you will all be happy to know that our online discussion group has 23 members, although I think people are still a bit shy about actually joining in the online discussions.

No worry, our next online discussion will be next Wednesday (sept. 13th) at 9:00 pm IST. Feel free to login and ask questions! You don't even need to have a g-mail account for that online discussion!

Welcome to new members

by Indy » Mon Sep 18, 2006 5:22 pm

Hello Everybody

Welcome to everyone who has signed up for our google group so far.

Till now we have had about 5 online chats, Dr. Sreenu, Shyam and me being the regulars, with Praneeth being our newest 'chatter'! Remember we do this online chat every Wednesday from 9 pm. You don't even need an account or anything to chat; just click on http://www.shyamagarwal.com/blab/login.php and enetr your name to participate.

Here's whats on our plate right now:

1. Coordinating efforts to help organize and conduct RTI camps on a regular basis throughout Hyderabad.

2. Devevloping a structured approach to health education and awareness amongst the poor/underprivileged. (this is more in the discussion stage and will require actualphysical presence to stage these 'classes' or sessions probably 2-3 months down the road.

3. Establihing a dynamic group of volunteers who can lend their services to various NGOs as and when the need arises. At this stage we would like to encourage the spirit of community activity in schools, colleges, universities and corporate entities through interactive sessions, presentations and debates. Let us know if your institution is ineterested in having one of these sessions.

If you want to be a part of this effort let us know!

Do any of the above things interest you? If you still have doubts, remember to join us for the online chat this Wednesday.

Remember the future is in our hands- let's make it GOOD!

Ciao!

by Indy » Fri Oct 13, 2006 4:51 pm

Hello everyone

Here is an activity you can participate in this Saturday (14th),

water filter
box type solar cooker
reflector type solar cooker
Please bring you ideas and suggestions as well. If you let me know what materials we need, I can purchase them tomorrow.

Venue: Government Girls high School, KINGSWAY (next tothe Chandana Bros. Saree shop at Patny, opposite Mahboob college).
Time: 9 am onwards

If you have any questions at all contact me immediately

Thanks
