Interested in forming a Rock / Prog Guitar Rock band

A lead guitar player, I have played at big shows such as I Rock, Mood I etc. several years back. We did the 'scene' for about 4 years & I even won 2 Best Guitar player awards (IIT & RAIT Mumbai). Now, my band members are scattered all over the world. I am from Bombay & work in Hyderabad. We used to play a lot of technically challenging stuff (guitar instrumentals) such as Satriani, Vai, Malmsteen, Dream theater and Metal (Megadeth, Metallica etc.)

I am looking for a good band with good musical taste. Lately I am more into guitar players like Greg Howe and I like John Mayer for his songwriting/guitar playing. So I have pretty diverse tastes and I just want to make some very good music.

Ideally I am ooking for musicians with some experience but talented musicians with limited exposure are also welcome. Singers, Drummers, Bass players, Keyboard players etc. all are welcome.

will you teach playing the guitar to a novice?

I used to teach a few years back and loved it, but honestly it does take up a lot of time. I have a pretty busy career & since I live in Mumbai I end up traveling there quite often (once a week).

I dont mind an informal jam sometime but really cant teach on a regular basis.

I noticed that there are many views but not many responses. Is no one interested in progressive or instrumental rock anymore?

2. Eric Johnson - Cliffs of Dover (An evergreen favourite, extremely melodic)
3. Jason becker - Air (2 clean guitars playing hardcore neo classical)
4. Steve Vai - I would love to (Feel good song, Nice as a pick up)
5. Satriani - Always with me, Always with you (Beautiful instrumental ballad)
6. Yngwie Malmsteen - Far beyond the sun (Neoclassical at top speed)
7. Marty Friedman - Tibet (Nice melodic eastern sounding track)
8. Greg Howe - Desiderata (One of favourite classical guitar tracks)

These songs & 2 original instrumental tracks. I need a kickass drummer, a guitar & bass player. Not too much to ask for, is it

Well, I'm a Tabla player, and I've been looking for someone to play with. For the lack of any classical/semi-classical groups here, I'm willing to participate in any fusion music you may want to play. FYI, the expressivity of a Tabla can be a great compliment to the energy of a drum set.
