I disagree with those people who say that the partition of India was a good thing. How can it be good when my grandparents had to leave their home town, Rawalpindi, and move to Delhi? How can it be a good thing when so many people, whether Hindu or Muslim, had to get up and leave their homes with no belonging to go and live in a city which they know nothing about? How can the partition be good? How can it have been a good thing when so many people, Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs died? If some of you people were peaceful, freedom loving, and non-violent people, you would make every effort for communal harmony, instead of speading hate and violence througout the country like you have done so recently. No wonder India is so poor. The people of India cannot get along with each other. Why? Because you don\'t make an effort! Stop the violence, Stop accusing each other, and work towards peace. This is the only way to make progress. And most of all, understand this: The Muslims who live in India, are Indian, they are not Pakistani, nor do they support Pakistan and its two-nation theory. They do not hate Hindus. The majority of Hindus do not hate Muslims either, there are some people who do, and it is those people who are preventing the progress of India socially, democraticaly, communaly, and economicaly.
In the US, people do not care what religion you are. Everybody is free to worship whatever religion, in peace. India, being the largest democracy in the world, should be a role model for the world, instead of a country known for burning people alive in the streets! Shame on India! Shame on India!
Peace!
