Rise above trivial issues...

by Sathya » Fri Mar 08, 2002 12:30 am

Once again I would like to repeat the same point...let us all rise above the trivial issues such as Babri Masjid and Ram Mandir...the whole issue is not that...but it is what is being actively undertaken by organisations like RSS, VHP and SIMI or manymore which I am unable to list down. Everyone in the country talks abt Ram Mandir, how many of them have actually visited Kashi or any other piligrimage or how many of them actually believe in those principles or ethics laid down in Gita or any other Scared book...for that matter I am not being biased by talking abt only Hindu\'s, these kind of UNWANTED ELEMENTS OF SOCIETY are present in every community, let it be hindu or muslim or cristian or jews...The most unfortunate part is that instead of realising the loss incurred due to these kind of terrorist activities, which by no means are less criminal than those undertaken by Al Quaida or Hamas...we are fighting abt mandir and masjid, at a time when are atleast showing signs of development...these issues again take us back by 10 or 100 or even more years. Rise above the levels of triviality and think abt the real issue.

How come I don\'t see many more messages like this poeted on this issue? Is this a commentary on how the average person feels about these idiotic hindu fundamentalism issues? Is there no \"voice of the public\" on this issue?

Babri masjid/Ram Mandir issue has nothing to do with religion. It is nothing but third degree politics of the deteriorating BJP. Even sensible leaders like Vajpayee is being forced to sound like fanatics. The frustration of BJP\'s humiliating defeat in the recent assembly elections in several states was very much evident in Gujarat carnage where VHP extremists went on rampage bringing shame to the sensible majority community. Now Ayodhya seems to be the last resort for BJP but how long can we Indians tolerate communal political parties like BJP or Muslim league? How long will we remain in this junk of religious hatred? Can\'t we rise above such communal feelings and think of united India? Remember, if India is to survive, it can only happen with love and harmony among different communities, else it will be another soviet union soon and that would be a disaster for majority community specially.

I am sorry ,but I dont think that this is a trivial issue. To me Ram mandir issue is not a religious issue but an issue which is directly related to our national identity. Whether you like it or not , nationality is an emotion that drives us and encourages us to do something for our motherland. I would like to say that India is not a country born in 1947 but it is an ancient nation and is built by our forefathers over many thousand years. Ram symbolises our forefathers common to both Hindus and Muslims living in this country and a feeling of nationality only says that he should be respected in that fashion.
If you want to destroy a nation you need to destroy the symbols of the cultural heritage of a nation . Even Babar knew that and that is why he decided to destroy Ram temple.
Now the issues that you think are important- Education- Most of the best trained indians dont stey in India becuse they do not have a feeling of nationality. They ditch their motherland for a better quality of life. That is why National conciousness is equally if not more important than education.
Economics- India was one of the Richest country of the world till 1700.But it could not maintain its independence - WHY? - Lake of national conciousness among the masses and leaders.

Babri Masjid issue should be left to the supreme court and our governement should make efforts in economic development of India. We the public is responsible for giving lift to fundamentalists.

My dear Rakesh leave this matter to the court, you and me are not the people who will decide about past existence. If people does not abide by court directives then each day a new fundamentalist or political party tries take advantage of the volatile religious sentiments of innocent Indian citizens. If someone leaves the coutry for better prospects it does not mean that he is not loyal to his country. OK. Beware... of using such wordings again. Because of the NRIs we have so much foreign exchange. OK
